Announcements Any permits applied for on or after May 4th, 2026 will be subject to the newly adopted fire codes. New permits must meet the requirements of the Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code and updated sprinkler square footage threshold. The Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code can be reviewed on the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention & Control website. Information on exterior material requirements and structure hardening can be found under Section 400. A general summary of the new code's standards for builders can be found here. All new residential structures 4,500 square feet or greater in size must have sprinkler systems installed.
